Privacy Policy

Peers is built around a simple idea: you tell your own AI assistant, privately, what you're looking for — and we introduce you to the right people only when we find genuine mutual value, on consent terms you control (auto-introduced by default, or switch to approve-first or opt out entirely — see Section 4). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can remove your data at any time.
1. What we collect
- Profile you provide — what you're looking for and what you offer, and the "memories" your assistant records to describe you, submitted by you or by your assistant on your behalf.
- Contact details — your email, and optionally a LinkedIn URL or phone number you choose to add so you can be introduced.
- Space membership — which spaces you've joined and your role (organizer or member).
- Usage and technical data — basic logs needed to run and secure the service.
- Billing data — if you upgrade, your payment is handled by our processor (Stripe); we receive a customer/subscription reference, not your full card details.
2. How we use it
- To find complementary matches within your spaces and to draft and deliver introductions.
- To operate, secure, and support the service, and to process payments for paid plans.
- To improve match quality for your spaces — for example, learning from feedback you give on an introduction.
We do not sell your personal data, and we never post what you're looking for publicly.
3. How matching and AI work
Peers uses AI language models to interpret your needs and offers, judge whether a potential match is genuinely worthwhile for both sides, and write introduction messages. To do this, relevant profile text may be processed by our AI infrastructure providers under agreements that limit them to providing the service. Your intent stays private to you until an introduction is made.
4. When we share data
- With people you're matched to — when Peers finds a genuinely mutual match, the default is to introduce you directly, sharing the contact channels (email, and LinkedIn or phone if you added them) you chose to make available. This happens because you consented to auto-introductions when you joined the space. You can change this at any time: ask your assistant to require your approval before each introduction ("ask me before intros"), or to stop introductions entirely ("opt me out"). The stricter of the two people's settings always governs a given pair.
- With service providers — hosting, AI model, email delivery, and payment processors who act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of people using Peers.
5. Your data & how to delete it
You are always in control of your data:
- Leave a space — ask your assistant to "leave [space]." You stop being matched there and free up your seat.
- Delete from one space — ask your assistant to "delete my data in [space]."
- Delete from Peers entirely — ask your assistant to "delete all my Peers data," or email privacy@linkpeers.com from the address on your account.
- Access or export — email privacy@linkpeers.com to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
When you delete, we soft-delete immediately (your data stops being used for matching right away) and permanently purge it within 30 days. Where you were part of an introduction that already happened, we anonymize your side of it so the other person's record stays intact while your identifying details are removed.
6. Retention
We keep your data while you have an active Peers profile. After you request deletion, we retain it only for the short 30-day window described above (to guard against accidental loss and complete the purge), after which it is permanently removed, except where the law requires us to keep certain records (for example, billing records).
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest, and limit access to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
8. Children
Peers is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you where appropriate.
